Unit 6: Leisure Activities

Mission Statement 

Students will learn about common leisure activities, expand vocabulary, and practice using verbs and verb phrases in context while developing reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. 

Language Objectives 
  • Identify and define verbs and verb phrases related to leisure activities. 
  • Read, listen to, and comprehend a story about daily leisure activities. 
  • Use vocabulary words in original sentences, both spoken and written. 
  • Practice proper grammar, verb usage, and sentence structure. 

 Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this unit, students will be able to: 

  • Recognize verbs and verb phrases in context. 
  • Use leisure activity vocabulary in sentences. 
  • Retell a story using learned vocabulary. 
  • Write their own sentences about daily leisure activities. 
  • Engage in conversations describing their favorite activities.

One sunny Saturday, Karren wanted to have fun. 
First, she listened to music while eating breakfast. 
Then she read a book. 
After reading, she planted flowers in the garden. 
In the afternoon, Karren’s friends came. They played basketball and cards. 
They listened to the radio and had a snack. 
In the evening, they watched TV together. 
Karren practiced the piano before bedtime. 
Everyone had a fun day!
