50-Word Story: The Bedroom (Adjectives in Bold)

In my quiet bedroom, I sleep on a soft bed. A warm blanket covers me. The bright lamp helps me read. My small night table holds books. This safe room helps my tired body rest every night. I feel happy and calm when I wake in the clean morning space.

Mini Lesson: Adjectives Describe Nouns (Teacher-Scripted, A1–A2 ESL)

Teacher:
“Class, listen carefully. The word bedroom is a noun. A noun names a place or thing. Now listen again: quiet bedroom. The word quiet is an adjective. It tells us what kind of bedroom.”

Teacher (points to picture):
“This is a bed. Bed is a noun. When I say soft bed, the word soft describes the bed. Adjectives give us more information.”

Teacher (models orally):
“I sleep on a soft bed.”
“The blanket is warm.”
“My room is safe.”

Teacher (life-skills connection):
“When we talk about sleep and rest, adjectives help us explain how we feel. A quietclean, and safe bedroom helps our body rest. Rest is important for health.”

Teacher (checks understanding):
“If I say lamp, that is a noun. If I say bright lamp, what word is the adjective?”
(Students respond: bright)

Teacher (wrap-up):
“Nouns name. Adjectives describe. We use adjectives to make our sentences clear, strong, and meaningful.”

Phonics & Sound Focus
