2. The Living Room

Preview Summary  

In this unit, students learn about the living room. 
The living room is a place in the house. 
Families sit, talk, watch TV, read books, and play games there. 
Students learn new words like sofa, chair, table, TV, and lamp. 
They learn simple sentences like “I sit in the living room” and “We watch TV together.” 
Students look at pictures, repeat words, copy sentences, and make their own sentences. 
They listen, speak, read, draw, and write. 
Students also learn that living rooms look different in different countries. 
This unit helps students talk about family time and daily life at home. 

Mission Statement of the Unit 

Students will learn what a living room is, what people do there, and how to talk about it using very simple English sentences. 

Unit Objectives 
  1. Students can name the living room. 
  2. Students can say what people do in the living room. 
  3. Students can use simple sentences to talk about family time. 
Learning Outcomes 

By the end of this unit, students will be able to: 

  1. Point to the living room in a picture. 
  2. Say one activity done in the living room. 
  3. Make one short sentence about the living room.

Objective: Introduce the living room and its purpose.

  2. Point and say: “This is the living room.” 
  3. Say the word slowly: living room
