I am Peter Horton an educator, website designer, builder, English, ESL teacher and more.
Welcome to our English class! I’m thrilled to share a part of my life with you. I was born in Mount Clemens, Michigan, and my journey truly started in the small town of Frederic, just north of Grayling. Our family lived in a modest 18×20 foot home, without many modern comforts. We relied on a gas lantern for light and a wood stove for warmth. My bed was made of straw, and our days were filled with the simple joys of hunting, fishing, and tending to our garden.
Despite the simplicity, I never felt deprived. I was blessed with what truly mattered: a loving family, loyal friends, and a school community that felt like extended family. In third grade, we moved to Caseville, where new job opportunities for my parents promised a better life. I made wonderful friends there, too, but my heart always longed for Frederic, our rustic retreat for weekends and vacations.
As I matured, I discovered that change is a constant companion. After high school, I joined the Army and then pursued higher education. My thirst for knowledge and adventure led me across the globe, from the ancient stones of The Great Wall to the majestic palaces of the East. I’ve had the privilege of teaching in countries far and wide, immersing myself in each culture’s unique beauty.
My life has been a tapestry of experiences, from working in business to starring in TV ads.
