Peter Horton - Educator

I’m Peter Horton, and this is the story of an educator whose journey began in humble surroundings. I was born in Utica, Michigan, and raised in the small town of Frederic, where life was simple but full of meaning. Our tiny 18×20 home had no electricity or running water, just a gas lantern for light and a wood stove for warmth. Yet, despite the simplicity, I was rich in love, friendship, and community.

As time passed, our family moved to Caseville for new opportunities, but I always carried the spirit of Frederic with me. Later, my path led me through many changes—from serving in the Army to earning my education, and eventually, to exploring the world. I’ve stood on the Great Wall of China, walked among the pyramids of Egypt, and admired the palaces of the East. Along the way, I discovered my greatest passion: teaching.

Moreover, I’ve had the privilege of teaching over 3,500 students across China, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Michigan, and Colorado. Each experience has deepened my belief that education connects hearts and minds across borders. I’ve also worn many hats—businessman, website designer, and even actor in TV commercials—but teaching has always been my true calling.

Today, through my English and ESL website, I hope to reach even more learners. My mission is simple: to guide students in exploring the beauty of language and the power of communication. Every student I meet is a VIP in my classroom, and together, we continue this lifelong journey of learning, growth, and connection.
