MY LETTER OF INTRODUCTION
I am Peter Horton, an educator, website designer, builder, English and ESL teacher, and more.

First and foremost, welcome to our English class! I’m excited to share a part of my life with you. I was born in Utica, Michigan, but my journey truly began in Frederic, a small town just north of Grayling. Our family lived in a modest 18 x 20 foot home, relying on a gas lantern for light and a wood stove for warmth. My bed was made of straw, and our days were filled with the simple joys of hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Despite this simplicity, I never felt deprived. I was blessed with a loving family, loyal friends, and a school community that felt like extended family. In third grade, we moved to Caseville for new job opportunities for my parents. I made wonderful friends there, but my heart always longed for Frederic, our rustic retreat for weekends.

As I matured, I learned that change is a constant companion. After high school, I joined the Army and pursued higher education. My thirst for knowledge led me across the globe, from the Great Wall to the majestic palaces of the East. I’ve had the privilege of teaching in various countries, immersing myself in each culture’s beauty.

As your English teacher, I’m here to guide you through the wonders of language and literature. Together, we’ll embark on an educational adventure, discovering the power of words. I have taught over 3,500 students in multiple countries, and I feel every one of you is my VIP. Let’s begin this chapter of learning and growth!

Sincerely, Peter Horton
